It’s a Baby Gender Reveal Party!

I don’t normally post a whole lot of personal posts on here, but this time we were just so excited we had to share.  12 days ago we had an ultrasound, and when they asked the magic question, “Do you want to know the sex of the baby?”  We replied, ” Yes, but not yet!”  We had the ultrasound tech write the answer in an envelope and seal it.  Then we gave the envelope straight to the best cupcake maker around, Kristin at the Meringue Bake Shop. Check her out at: www.meringuebakeshop.com she is amazing to work with.   Then the countdown began (LONGEST 12 DAYS EVER!)….finally over the weekend we had our closest family and friends over for a Baby Gender Reveal Party!  Everyone got into the spirit by dressing in either Blue or Pink, depending on what they thought the baby was going to be.  We had a yummy dinner of baked spaghetti, Caesar salad and garlic bread. It was super tasty, but what everyone really wanted to do was bite in to those delectable cupcakes and find out what if there was Blue or Pink filling!  We all got our respective cupcakes in hand, pealed back the wrapper and counted to 3, and then the reveal…..BRIGHT BLUE FROSTING!!!! Yeah! It’s a BOY! (And yes, the cupcakes tasted as amazing as they looked!)  We’ll be sure to post again later this year when he is born.  Thanks again to all of our wonderful friends and family that came out, and special thanks to Kristin for the awesome cupcakes (clearly the star of our party) and The Cupcake Tower (www.thecupcaketower.com) for the great cupcake display, our special day wouldn’t have been the same without you!
